Among the notable recognitions, the city received gold certification as a Community for all Ages and was designated a Walk Friendly Community and Bicycle Friendly Community.The City of Lee’s Summit is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Staff Engineer or Senior Staff Engineer in the Public Works Department. This position will design public infrastructure projects such as roads, signals and street lighting; manage consultant-led design projects for public infrastructure; coordinate design with water, sanitary sewer and stormwater systems; review development engineering plans; provide other general civil engineering related support to capital projects for municipalities; and capital project management.The General Civil Engineer would primarily work with planning and designing public infrastructure projects such as roads, water, sanitary sewer and stormwater systems; providing other general civil engineering related support to capital projects for municipalities; and capital project management.
The Traffic Engineer would work primarily with conducting traffic studies, traffic engineering, computer models, roadway design, and multi-modal transportation planning. Either engineering focus would provide customer service within the City of Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
Secondary responsibilities for either job may involve construction inspection, construction project management, permit review, and reviewing development engineering plans. Other regular duties include written and oral communications, to include formal presentations, to staff and the public.**Requirements:*** Staff Engineer position requires individuals that have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited Civil Engineering program.* Senior Staff Engineer position requires, in addition to the previous requirements, registration as a professional engineer (PE) in Missouri.* If registered in another state, licensure in Missouri must be obtained within six months of employment.**Salary:**Staff Engineer Salary Range $60,047-$90,068
Senior Staff Engineer Salary Range $78,249 - $117,373
