The Data Management Excellence organization in Clinical Development Strategy and Operations is a newly created entity to design, implement, and oversee the Total Quality Management operating model to achieve current and future financial commitments and ensure quality of deliverables. Centered around Continuous Improvement, Inspection Readiness, and Vendor Strategy. This role, Director Continuous Improvement and Portfolio Management, will be responsible for the oversight and integrity of CDSO business processes. Leading a team to develop and implement a CI framework, ID, prioritize and execute key CI projects. This leader will liaise directly with GBO in connecting initiatives to broader CDO objectives. Responsibilities
Develops the Continuous Improvement framework within CDSO, establishing improvement methodologies and techniques. Collaborates with CDSO leadership team to implement organization-wide CI mindset Maintains portfolio of CI programs and initiatives, establishing governance mechanism, portfolio tracking, progress reporting, and project management structure Partners with business stakeholders to lead assessment, design, and implementation of complex, cross-functional projects Leads approach and solutioning of projects including structuring ambiguous problems, designing analysis, formulating project approach, and driving team Collaborates with management, SMEs, and team members inside and outside CDSO to design and implement cross-functional solutions Leads by influence, developing ideas from concept to execution; positively influences project team members and outcomes without direct authority Implements a “no-churn” project management approach for initiatives; develops project plans Facilitates business teams to develop current state and future state process models Director holds people leadership responsibilities including direct reports, cross-team mentoring and development, and owning culture and team initiatives Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or scientific field 12+ years of experience within continuous improvement, corporate strategy or consulting Minimum of 3 years supporting cross-functional teams in a core function (Program Management, Development, Regulatory, Operations) Experience building or leading a continuous improvement organization Project Management experience People leadership experience Preferred Qualifications
Masters or PhD preferred PMP, Change management, Lean Six Sigma or process improvement experience desirable Experience in the pharmaceutical industry in drug development roles Experience with global and regional teams in the pharmaceutical industry Other Required Skills
Developing strategic thinking and leadership skills Good communication skills both written and oral Growing knowledge of program management practices, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry Coaching/mentoring and people management, and setting and driving strategy for a global team Equal Opportunity
