Overview
Vice President, Operations – Biologics Manufacturing The VP Operations will lead all aspects of a large-scale biologics manufacturing site, overseeing performance, strategy execution, and delivery of client programmes. With responsibility for a workforce of ~1,500 this role ensures operational excellence, compliance, and alignment with corporate goals, while driving growth and continuous improvement. Responsibilities
Full ownership of site operations, covering manufacturing, quality, supply chain, engineering, and support functions. Deliver on client commitments across biologics development and manufacturing services. Ensure regulatory compliance, quality, safety, and environmental standards are upheld. Lead and develop the site leadership team, building capability and driving a culture of accountability. Execute site strategy, including expansion, technology transfers, and efficiency initiatives. Manage budgets, resources, and capital projects to meet business objectives. Act as key liaison with external stakeholders, including clients, regulators, and community partners. Champion continuous improvement and operational excellence across all functions. Qualifications / Desired Experience
Proven leadership of large-scale biologics or pharmaceutical manufacturing operations (>500 staff). Strong background in CDMO or contract manufacturing, with direct client-facing experience. Track record of delivering complex technology transfers and site expansions. Deep knowledge of GMP, regulatory standards (FDA, EMA, MHRA), and global compliance requirements. Demonstrated success in building and leading senior leadership teams. Experience managing budgets, capital projects, and site-wide P&L responsibility. Skilled in operational excellence, Lean/Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives. Effective communicator with external stakeholders, including regulators, clients, and community leaders.
