This is a full-time, on-site role based in New Orleans, LA. The Vice President of Retail serves as a key member of Goodwill’s executive leadership team and provides strategic direction and operational performance oversight of all Donated Goods Retail enterprises across Southeastern Louisiana. This includes retail stores, attended donation centers, and warehouses. The Vice President of Retail is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, strong financial performance, customer satisfaction, and measurable mission impact while fostering a culture that reflects Goodwill’s values and commitment to community service. Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Planning Develop and execute long- and short-term strategic plans, budgets, and performance goals for the retail enterprise. Set financial outcomes for the retail division and ensure alignment with organizational objectives and Goodwill’s mission. Identify growth opportunities including store expansions, relocations, and other retail initiatives. Lead cross-functional initiatives as a key member of the executive team. Retail Operations Management Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of all donated goods retail operations, including stores, donation centers, warehouses, and logistics. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), sales performance, and operational data to ensure profitability and efficiency. Drive operational excellence through merchandising, pricing strategies, and customer service standards. Safeguard the quality and integrity of donations through proper intake, processing, and merchandising practices. Build and sustain a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Oversee all aspects of financial performance, including revenue generation, expense control, and full P&L accountability. Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and reporting tools to optimize performance. Ensure revenue generation supports Goodwill’s workforce development and community programs. Lead, mentor, and coach district managers, retail directors, warehouse and logistics leaders, and other retail staff to build a high-performing, engaged workforce. Drive succession planning, leadership development, and performance management across the retail division. Foster collaboration across the organization, building strong relationships with Marketing, Mission Services, Human Resources, and other key functions. Mission Alignment & Community Engagement Ensure retail operations support Goodwill’s mission by generating revenue for employment and training programs while creating job opportunities within retail operations. Partner with Marketing to effectively promote retail locations, donations, and mission awareness. Represent Goodwill at community, business, and civic events to strengthen brand visibility and organizational impact. Compliance & Risk Management Ensure adherence to labor laws, environmental regulations, safety standards, and company policies. Maintain ethical business practices and safeguard organizational assets. Oversee risk management processes, including safety programs, compliance audits, and loss prevention initiatives. Education and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred. Onsite in New Orleans, Louisiana area (or willingness to relocate to the New Orleans area). Minimum 10 years of senior leadership experience managing multi-unit retail, service industry, or operations management. Proven track record of driving sales growth and profitability with full P&L accountability. Strong aptitude for strategic planning, financial oversight, and execution of complex operational plans. Experience in talent management, leadership development, and succession planning. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Excellent communication, project management, and analytical skills. Ability to foster collaboration across all levels of the organization and lead through influence. Commitment to Goodwill’s mission and values with a customer-first mindset. Willingness to travel throughout the retail territory. Reporting Relationships The Vice President of Retail reports directly to the President & CEO of Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Louisiana. Direct reports include district managers, retail directors, warehouse and logistics leaders, as well as other key retail staff. Salary Range:
