Baker McKenzie We are seeking a talented junior/mid-level associate with two to five years of experience to join our Investment Funds team. Our team represents fund managers and their funds across a variety of asset classes and strategies (real estate, private equity, private credit, venture capital, infrastructure, etc.) and significant institutional investors with respect to all aspects of structuring, fundraising and operating investment funds, alternative investment structures, and navigating their respective investment management needs. You will be a key member of a growing and dynamic team. Because of the breadth of Baker McKenzie’s funds platform, your expertise and problem-solving abilities will be appreciated and valued. Requirements : Substantive experience drafting private investment fund documents Prior experience reviewing and identifying issues in fund documents on behalf of institutional investors Background in negotiating side letters and other ancillary contractual materials Familiarity with the Investment Company Act, Securities Act (specifically including Regulation D), Advisers Act and related exemptions, registration and compliance issues applicable to fund managers Prior exposure to investment adviser compliance, commercial real estate assets and related financings is helpful Because of the reach of Baker McKenzie’s international platform, we need a team member who can bridge different jurisdictions and practice groups to shape what Baker’s truly global funds platform will look like in the future.
