Overview
We care deeply about transforming lives with AMD technology to enrich our industry, our communities, and the world. Our mission is to build great products that accelerate next-generation computing experiences for data centers, artificial intelligence, PCs, gaming and embedded systems. We strive for execution excellence while being direct, humble, collaborative, and inclusive of diverse perspectives. The Role
AMD is looking for a world class AI frameworks engineer who can provide technical leadership in the development of AI frameworks in the AMD ecosystem. You will drive technical direction for next generation frameworks for AI model training and inference across AMD devices, including MI Instinct, Radeon GPUs, XDNA devices, Ryzen AI, Alveo V70, Versal ACAP, and datacenter CPUs such as EPYC. You will work to enhance AI framework capabilities to enable cutting-edge models on AMD hardware. Role responsibilities:
Lead development and direction of AI frameworks and runtime components; collaborate with AI researchers to map models efficiently to AMD accelerators; contribute to optimization tooling and model deployment strategies. The Person
If you are passionate about AI/ML frameworks, software architecture, and compilers, this is your opportunity. You will work in areas such as AI/ML frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX/OnnxRuntime), AI runtime components, and optimization tooling to accelerate AI/ML workloads on AMD hardware. You will collaborate with researchers to drive framework components for efficient mapping of AI models to diverse hardware accelerators. You should have demonstrated focus in at least one of these areas: developing and deploying model optimization features (e.g., graph fusion, quantization, sparsity), and/or experience with profiling and accelerating workloads on accelerators such as GPUs or NPUs and AI execution runtimes. You should be able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced development environment with excellent leadership and collaboration skills, and be comfortable working with geographically dispersed teams and guiding other senior developers and domain experts. Required Experience
Experience with development in AI frameworks, AI runtime stacks, and/or performance tuning and optimizations for workloads running on ML accelerator hardware (e.g., GPUs). Experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, OnnxRuntime, JAX, TensorFlow Proficient in C++ programming. Experience developing and debugging in Python. Experience with AI model architectures, e.g. Transformers, CNNs. Team player and ready to work with a geographically distributed team. Preferred Experience
Knowledge of custom accelerator hardware (highly preferred). Experience with AI software framework benchmarking and profiling. Operator/kernel development and deployment of models to accelerator (GPU/NPU) stacks. Depth of experience with model optimization, including quantization and sparsity. Understanding of model architectures, LLMs, MoE, diffusion. Academic Credentials
BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical fields. #LI-TC1 #LI-HYBRID Benefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance. AMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services. AMD and its subsidiaries are equal opportunity, inclusive employers and will consider all applicants without regard to age, ancestry, color, marital status, medical condition, mental or physical disability, national origin, race, religion, political and/or third-party affiliation, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, military or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. We encourage applications from all qualified candidates and will accommodate applicants' needs under the respective laws throughout all stages of the recruitment and selection process.
