Overview
Dean of the Undergraduate Sy Syms School of Business – Yeshiva University Yeshiva University seeks a bold, innovative, mission-driven leader to be the new Undergraduate Dean of Sy Syms School of Business (SSSB). The Dean serves as the school’s Chief Executive and Academic Officer, supervising an administration that includes an Associate Dean, Assistant Dean, Departmental Chairs, and staff, as well as a world-class faculty spread across five departments. The Undergraduate Dean will join the monthly Deans Council meetings and will manage an operating budget of approximately $11 million. Responsibilities include articulating a vision aligned with the University’s mission and strategic plan, implementing that plan at the school level, ensuring innovative and up-to-date curriculum, supporting research, and recruiting and retaining mission-aligned faculty. The Dean will focus on student retention and graduation rates, work with undergraduate admissions to inform students of program demands, and collaborate with Academic Advisors and Student Success counselors to generate positive student outcomes. The Dean will engage with business and industry leaders, SSSB alumni, and collaborate with the Director of the SSSB Graduate Programs, Yeshiva University Deans, and the SSSB Board of Overseers.
Position Responsibilities
Articulating and executing the School’s vision for the future, in keeping with the University’s strategic plan.
Ensuring that academic offerings are innovative and up-to-date, and leading curriculum updates when necessary.
Raising the stature of the Undergraduate School in terms of student competencies, faculty peer-reviewed research, and grant awards.
Providing faculty and staff development, mentorship, and assessment to ensure excellence in teaching, learning, and research.
Strengthening partnerships and collaborations across Yeshiva University and with external entities.
Building strong relationships with stakeholders, including industry leaders, donors, alumni, and community members.
Experience & Educational Background SSSB seeks a mission-aligned leader who possesses compassion, ambition, and entrepreneurial drive. A Ph.D. or terminal professional degree is expected, and/or experience commensurate with appointment as full professor with tenure. While no single candidate will meet all qualifications, candidates should demonstrate many of the following experiences and qualities to inspire and lead the Undergraduate School to new levels of excellence.

Experience securing external support through fundraising and grants.
