Overview

Zehl and Associates, a Premier personal injury law firm in the Galleria area, is seeking an experienced personal injury attorney to join our growing practice. The ideal candidate has 3 to 5 years of experience working on catastrophic personal injury cases on the plaintiff or defense side, first or second chair trial experience, and the ability to handle cases with minimal supervision. This is a long-term position where you will have the opportunity to excel professionally and financially at a well-respected plaintiff's law firm, while helping secure justice for individuals who were seriously injured or killed. You will have the opportunity to earn bonuses that, in some cases, may match or exceed your annual salary. All inquiries will be kept confidential. Responsibilities

Running own docket, managing a caseload of 60 to 80 personal injury cases Managing deadlines, filing petitions, answering written discovery Taking depositions, attending hearings and mediation, and taking cases to trial Required Qualifications

Three to six years of experience working on personal injury cases as a plaintiff or defense lawyer Comfortable managing a caseload of 60+ cases with minimal supervision First chair trial experience in a personal injury case is preferred Ability to draft petitions, motions, and discovery requests and responses Ability to supervise the medical care and treatment of clients Experience taking and defending party, witness, and expert depositions Excellent legal research, writing, and verbal communication skills Strong prioritization, attention to detail, and self-motivation Passion for helping and taking excellent care of accident victims Strong leadership skills and the ability to drive cases to resolution J.D. and Texas law license in good standing Additional Experience

Drafting petitions Drafting complex motions and briefs Expert, corporate rep, and fact witness depositions in state and federal court Arguing motions in state and federal court Preference for candidates who have clerked at a state or federal appellate court and/or have tried cases to verdict Application Requirements
