Overview
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, REAL ESTATE OPERATIONS, Office of Real Estate at Boston University. The Executive Director oversees the University's revenue-generating real estate assets, leads leasing, property management, and marketing, and directs financial and operational analysis for all University real estate activities. The incumbent manages an extensive portfolio of leases, licenses, and management agreements for a variety of property types, including multi-family, retail, office, land, and telecommunications. The Executive Director maximizes portfolio value while supporting the University's mission and strategic priorities such as fostering world-class, diverse faculty and a strong sense of community. The role identifies opportunities to increase efficiency and improve rental operations through asset management, analytics, and property technology. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Real Estate, the Executive Director leads a team of real estate professionals, including analysts, salespersons, and property managers, and provides technical leadership to help the department achieve its goals. The role collaborates with campus partners and engages external partners as needed. Responsibilities
Oversee revenue-generating real estate assets and lead leasing, property management, and marketing activities. Direct financial and operational analysis for all University real estate activities. Manage an extensive portfolio of leases, licenses, and management agreements across multiple property types (multi-family, retail, office, land, telecommunications). Maximize portfolio value in alignment with the University's mission and strategic priorities. Identify opportunities to increase efficiency and improve rental operations using asset management, analytics, and property technology. Provide technical leadership to a team of real estate professionals (analysts, salespersons, property managers). Collaborate with campus partners (Facilities Management & Operations, Medical Campus leadership, General Counsel, Risk Management, Government and Community Relations) and engage external brokers, attorneys, and other real estate specialists. Qualifications
MBA strongly preferred.
