We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join a leading venture capital firm's team in Boston, MA. The Senior Accountant will work with the Accounting Manager to manage financial reporting, enhance operational controls, and drive process improvements across entities and jurisdictions. This is a contract-to-hire position with an initial term of 3+ months, offering a pay rate of $55–$65 per hour, commensurate with experience. Fully remote candidates will be considered. Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of the monthly close process, including account reconciliations, internal management reporting, quarterly deliverables, and preparation of US GAAP-compliant financial statements for the Management Company and its subsidiaries. Maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial data through timely journal entries, cash activity recording, and general ledger oversight. Streamline core finance operations, with a focus on optimizing accounts payable workflows such as invoice processing, employee reimbursements, vendor disbursements, and account reconciliations. Manage treasury activities, including daily cash position reporting and regular reconciliation of cash accounts. Prepare and review routine and ad hoc journal entries covering fixed assets, depreciation, prepaids, deferred revenue, payroll, and accruals. Enhance and enforce internal controls to ensure compliance, minimize risk, and uphold financial integrity. Contribute to the evaluation and implementation of technology solutions aimed at improving the speed, accuracy, and efficiency of the close and reporting processes. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline CPA designation strongly preferred Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience with a solid understanding of US GAAP Proficiency in NetSuite is required; hands-on experience is essential Prior experience with Concur is highly preferred Working knowledge of finance operations and accounts payable processes is a plus Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across remote and cross-functional teams Demonstrated track record of meeting deadlines and delivering accurate, timely financial reporting Experience leveraging AI and automation tools to improve efficiency and streamline accounting workflows If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity, please email your resume to Lydia at lsinger@daleyaa.com IND123
