The Department of Radiation Oncology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) invites applications from board eligible or board-certified radiation oncologists with an interest in thoracic malignancies or brachytherapy to join our growing faculty. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.
Successful candidates should have excellent interpersonal skills to develop multidisciplinary collaborations, outstanding clinical skills, and a strong interest in research. Vanderbilt offers a wealth of research resources with the ability to collaborate with a world class Institute of Imaging Science (https://www.vumc.org/vuiis/welcome), access to large biorepositories (https://victr.vumc.org/what-is-biovu/) and de-identified databases, and strong biostatistics support (https://www.vumc.org/biostatistics/). Vanderbilt University School of Medicine was recently ranked number five nationally in NIH funding by the Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research.
The Department’s Nashville campus provides state-of-the-art therapy including stereotactic radiosurgery, stereotactic ablative radiotherapy, intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), total body irradiation, total skin electron beam radiotherapy, brachytherapy, adaptive radiotherapy and intraoperative radiation therapy. The Department is an integral member of the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.
