ANNUAL GIVING OFFICER, WBUR Membership & Development Department
WBUR is embarking on a $125 million comprehensive campaign to invest in content, people and innovation. Over five years, the Membership & Development departments are responsible for securing $42 million in restricted gifts and $83 million in unrestricted support to sustain WBUR initiatives. As an Annual Giving Officer, you will grow unrestricted giving by acquiring, renewing, and increasing gifts from WBUR’s Mid-Level Donors (those giving $500–$1,499 annually). You will hold a portfolio of 900+ current donors and prospects, building relationships to progress donors from Membership annual giving to leadership giving programs. This role is part of the Membership & Development Team and reports to the Associate Director of Membership. Responsibilities
Secure new, renewed, or increased funding from individuals through online giving, direct mail and digital campaigns, special events, and direct proposals. Steward donors with appropriate recognition and engagement opportunities throughout the year, including gift acknowledgements, regular communications, station tours and events. Move mid-level donors through the pipeline, collaborating with Membership and Development and other teams as appropriate. Leverage fundraising systems to effectively manage and analyze donor information. Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing fundraising systems to optimize tasks, goals and decision making. Utilize content and products, email announcements, acknowledgements and solicitations to advance donor relationships. Communicate with donors in writing and verbally, craft messages, and handle inquiries or concerns professionally. Track donor information, meet deadlines, and manage communication schedules in coordination with fundraising events or activities. Qualifications
1–3+ years of experience. A genuine passion for WBUR’s mission. Strong communication skills and collaborative work style. Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Experience in membership or development and understanding of the development process and stewardship preferred. Database experience, particularly Salesforce, is a plus. About WBUR & The Opportunity
