Overview

HEMATOLOGY/ONCOLOGY FACULTY POSITION. We are seeking BE/BC Hematologists/Oncologists with a strong interest in clinical care, clinical research, and education to apply for a clinician-educator track or clinician-investigator track position at the Central Virginia VA Health Care System (CVHCS) and Virginia Commonwealth University. The section is multifaceted and comprises multiple physician-scientists (all with active federal funding) and clinician-educators who have a strong affiliation with the Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center (NCI-CCC).

The Richmond, VA, Medical Center is a level 1a, 349-bed facility offering primary, secondary, and tertiary healthcare in medicine, surgery, neurology, rehabilitation medicine, intermediate care, acute and sustaining spinal cord injury care, skilled nursing home care, and palliative care. It is a hub site for the Lung Cancer Precision Oncology Program (LPOP) and a coordinating site for the VA-Radiation Oncology Collaborative (VA-ROC) Network (GU and other malignancies). MCC also houses state-of-the-art research core facilities, including flow cytometry, single-cell sequencing, mass spectrometry, and small animal imaging. The candidate will also be an integral part of the Massey Cancer Center (VCU, NCI-CC).

Responsibilities

Provide patient care in ambulatory and consultative inpatient settings

Engage in research activities and participate in teaching and education efforts

Teach/mentor 16 fellows who have their weekly continuity clinic at the VA

Conduct research in collaboration with Richmond VA Cancer Center physician-scientists and clinical investigators

Opportunity to take on leadership by assisting with administration and coordination of the fellowship program

Qualifications

Board-eligible or board-certified in Hematology/Oncology (BE/BC)

Strong interest in clinical care, clinical research, and education
