Overview SMF-Sutter Medical Foundation - Central is a not-for-profit organization supporting quality medical services provided by Sutter Medical Group and Sutter North Medical Group, within a clinically integrated network. The Neuropsychologist role serves adult patients and is best suited for a generalist. Referrals are primarily from Neurology with suspected organic etiologies, and may include psychiatric rule outs. Most work is onsite, with some telework possible.

Key Responsibilities

Provide neuropsychological evaluations to identify, quantify, and describe changes in cognition and behavior associated with central nervous system dysfunction and mental health disorders.

Communicate results to patients, families, and patient’s physicians; collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team in hospital and outpatient clinic settings.

Develop and implement assessment-based treatment plans; contribute to care planning within the medical team.

Education

Doctorate (PhD) or PsyD in psychology with specialization in clinical neuropsychology from an APA-accredited program.

Typical Experience

5 years of recent relevant experience.

Certification & Licensure

Psychologist license for California (PSY) from the California Department of Consumer Affairs.

Skills and Knowledge

Knowledge of human development, neuropsychological treatment, and treatment modalities.

Advanced knowledge of a wide range of neuropsychological assessment measures.

Knowledge of APA ethical standards.

Knowledge of ICD and DSM diagnostic criteria for cognitive disorders.

Experience with a broad selection of psychometric tests, including administration, scoring, interpretation, and reporting.

Awareness of cultural and linguistic diversity impacts on test validity and adaptation of assessment approaches.

Ability to work flexibly with diverse patients, ensuring valid test administration and interpretation.

Strong report writing skills and clear communication of results.

Proficiency with electronic health records (Epic).

Ability to collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team; leadership and management capabilities are valued.

Pre-doctoral internship/training in Neuropsychology and Postdoctoral training in neuropsychology.

Support for treatment teams and research activities as needed.

Compensation Pay Range is $60.70 to $91.05 per hour. The salary range may vary by location, and compensation reflects factors including experience, education, skills, licensure, and certifications. Base pay is part of the total rewards program, with eligibility for a comprehensive benefits package.
