Position Overview The Regional General Manager (RGM) formulates, implements, and executes the sales and operations strategy to grow overall revenue, market share, and profitability of the rental business, with an emphasis on coaching the team to maximize individual and regional potential. Responsible for developing and executing the company strategy for branch and regional rental operations. Principal Duties Achieve rental revenue and profit targets while building a sustainable sales and service organization. Lead and enable the regional sales and operations teams to achieve strategic goals related to revenue, profit, and market share through effective management processes. Maximize contribution margin by developing optimized pricing for all products and related services. Establish, develop, and expand senior-level relationships with Key and Target accounts; maintain an account management focus and grow top accounts with personal involvement. Conduct monthly one-on-one sessions with RSDs and RSMs to review annual plans, pipeline, forecasting, activities, account management, operations, profitability, safety, and personal development goals. Recommend sales and operations incentive plans. Collaborate with Regional Finance to optimize direct service and sales support costs while maximizing customer experience and profitability. Monitor market intelligence and industry relationships to respond to trends and drive revenue growth. Participate in local/regional industry trade associations and maintain regional memberships. Identify growth or cost-efficiency opportunities and build a business case to capitalize on them. Drive customer loyalty and penetration plans for Target accounts to increase market share. Coordinate regional marketing activities and spend for traditional, digital, and social media. Oversee cost-effective execution of operations supporting branches while ensuring quality across operations. Optimize rental fleet reliability, utilization, and profitability; support other regions to maximize fleet use. Drive product improvements and development of new rental solutions. Develop operational metrics to assess efficiency and guide continuous improvement. Monitor and enforce all operational expense categories within responsible functions. Drive branch facility expansion from an operational standpoint aligned with growth strategy. Forecast and create monthly/annual budgets, including opportunity and account management processes. Drive safety for the region and ensure company safety policies are implemented at all locations and in the field. Support performance management and personal development processes to drive continuous improvement. Collaborate with senior management and owners in formulating business strategy. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree or 5+ years of equivalent field experience; Engineering, Technical, Marketing or Business disciplines preferred. 5+ years of management experience, preferably within the Specialty rental business; knowledge of heating, cooling, and power equipment is desired. Fundamental knowledge of ERP, CRM, and business systems. Demonstrated leadership with a track record of motivating and mentoring teams and driving growth. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Strategic, data-driven mindset to identify high-return customers and strategies. Experience with business financials, market segmentation, customer requirements, and trends. Experience with construction contracting, engineering, and direct selling processes; additional vertical market experience in Healthcare, Higher-Ed, Industrial/Manufacturing, and CRE is a plus. Travel approximately 50% of the time (varying with needs).
