PRIMARY PURPOSE Responsible for providing health care for patients in designated primary or specialty area, including patient diagnoses, treatment, education, and referrals. Serves as a resource and role model for clinical practice, training, evaluation and direct management of practitioners and students in all areas encompassed by the service line to ensure optimal patient care quality. Assist leadership in assessing, planning, organizing, and implementing designated advanced practice provider activities. Minimum Qualifications

Education Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program recognized by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or its predecessors. Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Master's degree in nursing accredited through the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, Inc. (ACEN). Experience 3 plus years of clinical experience as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) performing the same or similar job duties. 5 plus years of clinical experience as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in any field. Equivalent Education and/or Experience May have an equivalent experience to substitute for the education requirements. Certification/Registration/Licensure Must have current healthcare provider status and meet licensure/credentialing requirements as delineated by Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, and Credentialing Policies/Procedures. Current/Pending certifications include: Current, valid Physician Assistant licensure from the Texas Board of Physician Assistants. Current certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Current RN licensure from the Texas Board of Nursing, or a valid Compact RN license (for APRN path). Current licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with authorization to practice as applicable (Family, Adult, Gerontology, Adult-Gerontology, Adult-Gerontology Acute Care, or Acute Care). Current valid prescription authorization number from the Texas Board of Nursing. Active certification as a Nurse Practitioner (FNP, ANP, GNP, AG-PC/KP variants) from ANCC, AANP, or AACNCC as applicable. Required Tests for Placement Must have current healthcare provider BLS course completion card from one of the following: American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network. Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (Nurse Practitioner) Active Texas RN license and APRN license with eligible family/adult geriatrics specialty, and Texas prescriptive authority. Skills or Abilities Provides care to the assigned patient population in accordance with the current State of Texas Nursing Practice Act or Texas Medical Board Rules, as applicable to licensure, established protocols, multidisciplinary plan of care, and clinical area-specific standards. Demonstrates leadership, effective communication, and change management. Maintains knowledge of Parkland policies, structure, procedures, and mission; demonstrates patient-centered behaviors. Responsibilities Performs all clinical practitioner service activities in the designated specialty area, including taking histories, performing exams, making assessments, and ordering tests to determine diagnoses and care plans. Ensures optimal medical decision-making and patient care management aligned with PHHS mission; uses protocols and consultants appropriately. Records health history, findings, treatments, and recommendations accurately. Manages time effectively, consults supervising physicians as needed, and includes patients/families in the plan of care. Educates patients for self-management and follow-up; arranges appropriate follow-up and educational materials. Trains, supervises, and evaluates APP students; serves as a clinical resource and role model for junior staff and trainees. Stays current with developments in the practice area; participates in education activities and QA/QI projects; fosters collaborative learning and knowledge sharing. Maintains positive working relationships within PHHS; provides patient-centered care and promotes good customer service and patient satisfaction. Maintains compliance with applicable rules, regulations, policies, and credentialing; ensures internal controls and ongoing certification/licensure requirements. Identifies process improvements; participates in clinical projects; may participate in clinical research or trials. Assists in developing, implementing, and monitoring annual goals for the department; attends staff meetings and serves on committees as assigned.
