Overview

Chief Medical Officer role at Health eCareers. Location: Santa Rosa, California. The organization is Sutter Medical Group of the Redwoods, a multi-specialty group affiliated with Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation. The CMO will participate in the medical group’s vision to be the best place to practice medicine in the North Bay. Responsibilities

Provide leadership for the clinical and service quality efforts of SMGR and SPMF, North Division (Sonoma and Lake Counties), including leadership and participation on relevant committees and task forces. Oversee medical oversight of risk management processes and policies. Provide oversight for medical practice and compliance of SMGR for physicians and advance practice clinicians. Participate in creating and implementing clinician compensation models and reports. Manage day-to-day financial operations of the medical group, including budget development and interface with accounting, revenue cycle, and coding/compliance staff. Communicate regularly with physicians and providers to address issues relevant to effective operations. Oversee ongoing recruitment of clinicians to SMGR, including employment agreements and compensation models. Oversee the practice development of new providers including onboarding and orientation. May maintain a part-time clinical practice at an average of 0.1 FTE per week, not to exceed 0.2 FTE with pre-approval. Qualifications

Education: M.D. or D.O. from an accredited school with residency in appropriate specialty Advanced coursework in management and leadership Valid, unrestricted medical license to practice in California Meets appropriate board eligibility as defined by SMGR Knowledge & Experience: Experience in the administration of a physician group Knowledge of clinician practice operations, financing, and managed care business Ability to foster positive, inclusive workplaces with strong communication, empathy, emotional intelligence, and collaboration Conflict resolution skills with active listening and problem-solving abilities Strong working knowledge of applicable legal and accrediting standards Effective business/program development skills Benefits
