The Honest Company is looking for a passionate and strategic Senior Manager, Brand Mission. This role focuses on how Honest will challenge ingredients, ideals and industries, and supports the Company’s Mission with a focus on the technical path forward. The role requires partnering across R&D, Brand, and Public Relations to define commitments in this space, leverage front-line science and technology to establish business practices, and help evolve the Honest Standard in support of the mission. You’ll work cross-functionally to develop and implement mission-focused strategies, measure performance, and ensure alignment with internal goals and industry standards. What you’ll do:

Lead our mission strategy technically in partnership with brand and corporate comms/PR to articulate the Honest Standard and POV. Develop the vision and strategy to drive the company’s mission and roadmaps for implementing initiatives.

Ensure the mission of challenging ingredients, ideals and industries is forward-looking, scientifically grounded, and communicated to drive consumer value.

Connect externally to understand evolving science globally and emerging issues, plus standards of reporting and communications.

Identify and mitigate mission-related risks at the corporate level, ensuring compliance with global regulations and industry standards.

Develop and implement systems for measuring and tracking performance, identifying improvements, and driving continuous improvement.

Conduct materiality assessments to identify and prioritize significant brand mission-related issues impacting the business and stakeholders.

Stay informed on evolving science, including regulations, trends, and best practices, and provide guidance to internal teams.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate brand mission considerations into Honest’s operations and corporate strategy.

What you’ll need:

Bachelor’s degree in sustainability, environmental science, chemistry or chemical engineering, business, or a related field.

5+ years of ESG/Responsible Sourcing/Risk Management experience, preferably in corporate sustainability, nature/social risk management, or responsible sourcing compliance.

Familiarity with ESG reporting frameworks such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, or CDP.

Strong understanding of technical and consumer risk assessments, materiality analysis, and stakeholder engagement.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools.

Ability to think critically and strategically, effectively communicating the impact of the Honest brand mission.

Compensation

The pay range for this role is $130,000 - $145,000. Actual compensation is based on factors including depth of experience, skill level, knowledge, education, certifications, and location. This may differ by location due to cost of labor. The total rewards package may include base pay, annual incentive plan, benefits, retirement plan, equity, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
