Overview
Senior Accountant – Quantum Tech/SaaS Company
is a remote role (with occasional office visits 1–3 times per month) offered by Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert. The position reports to the Controller and offers compensation of $120k + bonus and stock + excellent benefits. The company is a publicly traded technology firm focused on quantum computing, enterprise/government solutions, and data protection.
Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of SEC filings, such as Forms 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K, and other regulatory reports (statutory audits).
Prepare and review financial statements and footnote disclosures, including supporting schedules, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Assist in the preparation of the monthly controller report, coordinating with subsidiaries and cross-functional teams (Equity, Finance, People) to obtain and analyze supporting schedules.
Perform quarterly variance analysis of changes in balance sheet and income statement accounts.
Research and document technical accounting issues, disclosure requirements, and new accounting pronouncements to ensure proper GAAP application for significant transactions.
Review monthly and quarterly journal entries and account reconciliations for investments, noncontrolling interests, and other technical accounting areas.
Assist with accounting and reporting processes for business combinations and investments.
Perform key internal controls in a timely manner and identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and controls, including automation ideas to support growth.
Supervise and coach financial reporting staff, review workpapers, and provide constructive feedback; provide backup support for other department positions as needed.
Support the Financial Reporting Team on special projects as needed.
Qualifications
BS/BA in Accounting
3–5 years of progressive experience in financial reporting and/or public accounting
Experience with SEC reporting requirements
Strong analytical, organizational, and presentation skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task effectively
High competency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
CPA preferred
Experience with a Big Four or other national accounting firm is preferred
Ability to develop new skills quickly in a fast-paced, high-volume environment to continuously improve processes
Willingness to tackle challenges and think constructively to solve problems
