Northeast Academic Institution Seeking Experienced Neurosurgeon to Lead Western

The Department of Neurosurgery at a prestigious academic institution is seeking a Board-Certified neurosurgeon with strong training in both cranial and spine surgery to serve as the Associate Director of Neurosurgery for the Western Region. The candidate will be integral to the further expansion of a rapidly growing department and the expansion of neurosurgical services into the Western geography of the network. The Department of Neurosurgery has excellent multi-disciplinary collaboration with orthopedics and an integrated pain management practice as well as significant institutional resources for both inpatient and outpatient growth already allocated. The position is a unique combination of community neurosurgery with a significant academic footprint. Subspecialty interests will be strongly supported in the context of a general neurosurgery practice.

Strategic planning and oversight of the Western network Maintaining a productive community-based surgical practice in cranial and spinal disease Teaching and mentoring neurosurgical residents Advancing knowledge in the field through best practices in patient care
Western Region Hospitals include:
A 280-bed hospital that provides emergency, medical, surgical, obstetrical/gynecological, and acute care services to the surrounding communities - MRI, CT, STEALTH, LINAC, O-Arm, C-Arm A non-profit Medical Center and first new hospital built in the state in over 20 years that boasts state-of-the-art technology and provides 380 beds and employs over 2,400 healthcare professionals. - Level 2 trauma center - MRI, CT, STEALTH, LINAC, C-Arm
As a teaching hospital of the Medical College, the candidate will have close interaction with the program's fellows, residents, and medical students. With a collegial atmosphere, educational opportunities will be available at both the main Medical Center and Regional Hospital campuses. The candidate will also have opportunities for collaborative research, privileges at the main campus including OR availability, Grand Rounds, and conferences.
Practice Highlights: Leadership role as Associate Director of Neurosurgery – Western Region, reporting directly to the Director and Chair of Neurosurgery Variety of sub-specialty interests can be supported in the context of a general neurosurgery practice Case mix will be ~75% spine and 25% cranial Call schedule of 1:3-4 depending on the timing of the recruitment, supported by mid-level staff including 2 PA’s and 1 NP Clinical Faculty appointment including OR availability at main campus, involvement in Grand Rounds, resident/fellow teaching, collaborative research projects, and conferences State-of-the-art equipment Highly competitive compensation plan including base salary & annual bonus based on productivity, citizenship, and quality metrics
