The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable). Duration : This assignment is anticipated to last 3 months Compensation : $31.51 per hour. Eligible for Mid-level Medical Benefits, Vacation, Sick, and Holiday pay. Work Schedule : Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Location : Onsite Description
Student Engagement & Support : Provide academic and community-building support for engineering students, particularly those in IDEA Center cohorted programs (e.g., IDEA Scholars). Meet with students individually or in small groups to provide guidance, mentorship, and referrals to campus resources. Program & Event Coordination : Assist with planning and implementing Fall quarter programs such as Welcome Week activities, Engineering Community Welcome, and IDEA Center workshops. Support professional development, academic success, and wellness activities for undergraduate engineering students. Help organize program logistics, including participant communication, sign-ups, room/facility arrangements, and event-day staffing. Create and disseminate marketing materials for the implementation of the Career Readiness partnership with Basta. Student Organization Support : Serve as a point of contact for engineering student organizations advised by the IDEA Center. Support with Matching Fund and Student Travel Fund. Provide guidance on leadership development, event planning, and connecting student orgs to campus resources. Operations & Team Collaboration : Support day-to-day IDEA Center operations alongside professional and student staff. Contribute to communications, outreach, and maintaining a welcoming environment for engineering students. Assist with data collection and student feedback to inform program improvements. Maintain and update the website and marketing materials as needed. Provide event coordination support for IDEA Center programs, primarily focused on IDEA - Scholars and student orgs, including room reservations, vendor coordination, and purchasing. Support the IDEA Center in flagship events as needed. Qualifications
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office or Google Workspace. Knowledge and experience in analyzing problems and identifying solutions; skills and experience in developing and administering programs. Experience working with undergraduate and graduate students, preferably in an advising or service capacity. Ability to present a professional appearance and interact professionally with a diverse population (e.g., faculty, staff, students, industry representatives). Ability to exercise independent judgment and follow directions and instructions accurately. Demonstrated ability to organize workload to handle multiple tasks, maintain accuracy and follow-through, and meet deadlines in a strong service-oriented environment with changing priorities. Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and develop programmatic activities from general guidelines. Demonstrated ability to establish objectives, set priorities, plan, direct, meet deadlines, and evaluate event production for engineering students. Ability to promote diversity and possess a multi-cultural understanding within higher education, the workplace and the community. Special Conditions
