Position Summary
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Peoria campus of the University of Illinois College of Medicine seeks full-time and part-time General OB/GYN physicians to provide comprehensive health care in both inpatient and ambulatory settings, including actively participating in the educational and clinical training of residents and medical students. Our growing program can offer a position tailored to your interests of providing OB/GYN patient care, teaching future physicians in the heart of the Midwest, and enjoying the benefits of a flexible work/life program. Duties & Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in obstetrics and gynecology, encompassing both outpatient and inpatient settings. Actively participate in the teaching of residents and medical students in the context of clinical obstetrics and gynecology, fostering a culture of learning and professional development. Engage in scholarly activities. Contribute to departmental initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and healthcare delivery. Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
MD or DO. Board-certified or board-eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Illinois. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively. Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to teach residents and medical students. Experience or interest in research and academic leadership preferred. About the Program & Location
Peoria, Illinois offers urban amenities with a low cost of living, access to parks, arts, and a central location within reach of Chicago and St. Louis. Our team of physician faculty supports tailored positions across inpatient or outpatient care, teaching, and scholarly activity. The OB/GYN residency program accepts up to four residents per year. Academic offices are connected to a quaternary care hospital with a Level I Trauma Center and a large neuroscience center, plus a world-class medical simulation center.
