Overview
George Schmitt & Co., Inc. is a security printing and converting company located in Guilford, CT. This is a full time position. We are seeking an experienced person to do building maintenance as part of the engineering team in our Guilford facility. This is a job shop type of environment with broad day-to-day assignments. The successful applicant must have the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team. The Maintenance Manager is an integral part of a small technical team in a job shop environment with broad day-to-day assignments including machinery, support equipment and facilities. Responsibilities
Change HVAC filters on all air handlers Patch minor roof leaks Clean gutters Clean loading dock gutters Snow/Ice cleanup from stairs and walkways when not performed by contractor Janitorial: cleanup water inside building from leaking roof, plumbing, drains, bathrooms, etc. Interior building maintenance (lighting, plumbing, floor repair, repair doors, gates, AC units, etc.) HVAC frontline assessment Clean window AC units Wire brush & paint air handler housing & exterior ducting for presses, Shipping & Finishing Dept. Repair parts of the metal roof that is rusting Seal/caulk exterior window frames Clean & paint AC condenser fan grills Clean & paint main building steam pipe to & from the ink shed Clean & paint gas pipes on the roof Repair overhead door Repair heater pipe for the electrical room (leaking) Cleanup building material from between north & south ground level air handlers Hang and/or move lights (where electrical service already exists) Must climb ladder Retrieve material from offsite warehouse as needed Use forklift for facility support as needed Move machinery as needed Move pallet racking and other factory items as needed Clean machinery as needed Check boilers Check air compressor Add/replace air lines Support production equipment & learn to troubleshoot as needed Perform basic machine maintenance assessment and limited PM Assist production department via nonproduction activities Assist in machinery repair as needed Assist in equipment rebuilding as needed Maintain safe machine shop working environment Qualifications/Attributes
