Overview

The RAND Corporation seeks an Accountant to perform General Ledger accounting duties to support the financial transactions at RAND. Duties

This position is responsible for processing and recording the financial transactions related to cash management, including but not limited to recording and verifying all cash-related transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, transfers, client payments, and ad hoc bank transactions. Additional responsibilities include recording journal entries, performing bank and general ledger account reconciliations, conducting fluctuation analysis, and preparing reports on cash positions. This position is responsible for assisting in the preparation of management reports, quarterly/annual financial statements, and rollforwards; compiling and preparing supporting documentation and schedules for audit requests; and participating in various other ad hoc projects as requested by management. Basic Qualifications

Experience and understanding of accounting transactions required Ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently Excellent communication, writing, and analytical skills Ability to organize workflow in an efficient manner Aptitude to perform detailed work with a high degree of accuracy Research, compile, and analyze data for projects/reports as needed Experience in non-profit accounting, a plus Proficient use of MS Office suite required Strong Excel skills; experience with large data sets required Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Workday ERP, a plus Education

Minimum BS/BA in Finance, Business or Accounting CPA / or working towards CPA, a plus Experience

Minimum of 1 year related to Business/Accounting experience. 3 years of experience is preferred. Location

One Salary Range

$64,400 - $96,100 RAND considers a variety of factors when formulating an offer, including but not limited to, the specific role and associated responsibilities; a candidate's work experience, education/training, skills, expertise; and internal equity.The salary range includes base pay plus RAND's sabbatic pay (which provides additional compensation above base pay when vacation is taken).
