The Senior Solutions Architect will primarily be responsible for architecting solutions for strategic initiatives and projects that combine new and existing applications, tools and technology to derive effective & efficient solutions that address the business problems/opportunities and align to enterprise policies and standards. This role focuses on Client's Artificial Intelligence (AI) Architecture to lead the architectural vision and implementation of AI initiatives. The Expert AI Solutions Architect will design scalable, secure, and performant AI solutions, prototype cutting-edge concepts, and guide their deployment. Responsibilities
Deeply embed with strategic healthcare customers, serving as their technical thought partner in ideating and directly developing novel full-stack applications on our platform Leverage software engineering expertise in Python, Microsoft Azure and related software to create initial prototypes and contribute durable product features Proactively provide guidance to customers on maximizing business impact from their applications, accelerating time to value Forge and manage relationships with customers’ leadership and stakeholders to ensure successful deployment and scale Collaborate with Virtusa internal and client teams to drive AI delivery toward exceeding customer expectations Define, design, and implement scalable, secure AI solutions leveraging Generative AI (LLMs, diffusion models), Agentic AI systems, and mature MLOps/LLMOps practices Architect and implement end-to-end AI workflows, including data ingestion, model orchestration, prompt engineering, deployment, and integration with enterprise systems Develop and code robust frameworks for evaluating AI models, defining metrics, test cases, and processes for accuracy, fairness, safety, and reliability Lead CI/CD of AI models by developing automation scripts, configuring monitoring, versioning, governance, and scalable deployment pipelines Guide data scientists and ML engineers to ensure adherence to architectural principles and AI best practices Translate complex healthcare challenges into actionable AI strategies and rapidly prototype solutions Stay ahead of AI trends by evaluating new technologies and conducting hands-on experiments and pilot projects Establish AI governance policies ensuring HIPAA, GDPR, ethical AI standards, model explainability, and internal security requirements Partner with product managers, business analysts, and data engineers to define requirements, document and deliver AI solutions, and serve as primary technical expert Maintain clear architectural documentation with implementation details This list is not all-inclusive; other duties may be assigned Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, AI, ML, Data Science, or related quantitative field; Ph.D. is a plus 7+ years of experience in software architecture and engineering, with at least 2 years specializing in AI/ML; healthcare/medical insurance experience is a plus Expert proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with cloud AI/ML services (Azure), including developing and deploying models Demonstrated ability to build and deploy Generative AI solutions (LLMs, diffusion models) Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks such as LangChain, AutoGen, or similar, including custom agent development Expert knowledge of MLOps/LLMOps pipelines with tools like MLflow, Kubeflow, Azure ML, or similar CI/CD platforms Experience with prompt engineering, large model attunement, and vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus) Solid understanding of data privacy regulations (HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA) Experience designing, developing, and integrating APIs for AI services Strong ownership, willingness to learn, and ability to drive success for team and customers Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences Proven track record leading complex technical projects with multiple stakeholders Collaborative mindset with empathy and willingness to help others Ability to manage multiple projects with high pace and clear prioritization Adaptability to dynamic environments and ambiguity Leadership and influence skills to guide cross-functional teams Hands-on experience delivering Microsoft’s AI and cloud solutions (AI Vision, AI, Doc Intelligence, Azure Health Data Services, Azure OpenAI Service, Azure APIs, Azure Confidential Computing, Azure Machine Learning & Synapse Analytics) Licenses
