Cloudflare protects and accelerates Internet applications without requiring hardware, software installation, or code changes. Our network routes traffic to improve performance and reduce spam and attacks. Cloudflare has been recognized on Entrepreneur Magazine\'s Top Company Cultures list and by Fast Company as one of the World\'s Most Innovative Companies. We value curiosity and empathy, and we support ongoing development and learning. We strive for a diverse and inclusive team and hire based on potential, supporting team members throughout their time with Cloudflare. We invite you to join us! Available Locations: Austin, NYC, Lisbon, or London (Hybrid)
About The Role
You\'ll be responsible for two of Cloudflare\'s most critical database infrastructure products: Workers KV and Hyperdrive. KV is a globally distributed key-value store that enables extremely high read-volume workloads with low-latency (sub-10ms) retrievals at millions (and more) of requests per second. Hyperdrive is our distributed connection pooler and query caching service that supports querying Postgres and MySQL databases directly from Cloudflare Workers (using any off-the-shelf database driver). It\'s a key part of building full-stack applications on Workers and the foundation of our future transactional database efforts and services. This is a role with high agency and accountability: you\'ll be the sole PM for the products you\'re responsible for, and you\'ll work closely with peers across the team to ensure we\'re shipping great developer experiences and not silos.
What You\'ll Do
Drive the strategy, roadmap & (most importantly) ship great products that help developers build reliable, high-performance full-stack applications on Cloudflare.
Lead projects from ideation through launch, and continuing through ongoing maintenance and support.
Develop and nurture relationships with engineering and coordinate closely to ensure successful delivery of product features.
Talk to developers (likely the most important)! Develop a playbook to find the right users to talk to, including diving into BI tools to identify cohorts, engaging on our developer Discord, or engaging with communities on Twitter or Hacker News.
Partner with other departments (Product Marketing, Marketing, Community & Developer Relations, Sales, Customer Support) to drive adoption and gather feedback from customers and prospects.
Ruthlessly prioritize across a complex environment of diverse customers, stakeholders and objectives.
Represent the company externally as needed, including meetings with customers and prospects and analysis.
Delve into market research to drive new investment opportunities in the developer space.
Examples Of Desirable Skills, Knowledge And Experience You have outstanding communication and collaboration skills and can work with a diverse group, gain alignment, and move the product forward. You are execution-focused and attentive to important details.
A desire to sweat the details and ship great end-to-end developer experiences. APIs, UIs, docs: all part of the product.
Proven track record of shipping developer-facing products from ideation to launch. You should understand what it means to be a developer and what gets in the way of building production services.
A love for talking to developers at organizations of all sizes to build and ship products that solve real problems.
Demonstrated experience with transactional databases and a desire to become a domain expert quickly. Understanding Postgres\' connection model vs. MySQL\'s process model, how replication works across RDBMS, and interest in Jepsen analyses.
A focus on the developer: you'll work directly with customers and often help them get initial implementations off the ground.
BS/MS in a technology field.
Professional product management experience (3-4 years), previous founder experience or demonstrated experience on an engineering team shipping user-facing products.
Strong technical abilities: familiarity with modern software development practices, and the ability to understand engineering decisions\' impact on the product while maintaining a view of the big picture.
Experience using developer tools: familiarity with a favorite text editor, CLI tools, and being an early user of the products you\'re shipping.
Programming experience (JavaScript/TypeScript, Rust, Go, etc.) and/or experience with SQL dialects.
