Overview
ATCS is seeking a highly motivated, multi-faceted Traffic Engineering/Planning Technical Expert to join our growing team. This is a hybrid role with three days per week required onsite in one of our ATCS offices. We are considering candidates based out of Herndon, Richmond, or Hampton Roads, VA.
Responsibilities
Apply broad knowledge of leading-edge transportation engineering principles and techniques to improve the efficiency, reliability, resilience, and safety of transportation systems.
Support management and delivery of traffic engineering and planning projects on-time, within budget and to the satisfaction of the client.
Support business development duties for major project/contract pursuits when necessary.
Serve in QA/QC role when necessary, continue refinement of ATCS’ Quality Management Plan (QMP) and ensure its application across project deliverables and products.
Perform hands on traffic analysis, planning and traffic engineering design work as applicable.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited civil engineering program is required.
Virginia PE license required; PE in additional ATCS markets (MD, NC, SC, PA).
10+ years of VDOT project delivery experience required.
20+ years of relevant experience.
Must demonstrate high technical competency in traffic planning & engineering including safety, planning, engineering, design, and operational needs of transportation systems.
Existing relationships with clients, as well as other regional engineering firms, with the ability to provide exceptional client interface and service delivery.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Active in professional organizations, preferably having served on committees or held positions of responsibility.
Ability to travel as needed.
Compensation and Benefits ATCS offers a competitive salary range of $155,000 - $233,500 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The role is eligible for an annual management bonus, with a target of 7.5-12.5% of the employee's annualized salary. In addition to compensation, ATCS offers benefits for employees and their families. Full-time employees are eligible for benefits coverage on the first day of the month following their start date, including: generous personal PTO, inclusive holiday PTO, community involvement PTO, customizable medical plan options, dental & vision plans, 401K match up to 3% with immediate vesting, parental leave, STD & LTD, tuition reimbursement, employee assistance program, and more.
