Role Overview The company is seeking an experienced Cloud Architect with a strong command of AWS and DevOps methodologies and excellent interpersonal skills. Based in Chicago, this role involves collaborating closely with clients to drive cloud adoption and deliver innovative, scalable cloud solutions. Qualifications
Expertise in Linux or Windows systems and major cloud providers (AWS preferred)
Strong knowledge of Terraform and AWS SDK / CLI
Domain expertise in areas like containerization, serverless, machine learning, or software development
Proficiency in scripting, security controls, enterprise architecture, and CI / CD tools
What You'll Do
Lead AWS migration projects and design scalable cloud solutions
Define and deploy AWS environments using Infrastructure as Code tools
Implement optimized architectures addressing cost, availability, and scalability
Oversee migration of applications to containers or serverless platforms
Communicate regularly with clients and internal teams
Desired Business Skills
Creative problem-solving and intellectual curiosity
Effective collaboration across technical and business stakeholders
Best practice knowledge of migration, analysis, and execution
Technical Skills Requirements
5-10 years experience in Linux or Windows system engineering / administration
3-5 years working with major cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
3 years of AWS-specific expertise (if experienced in Azure / GCP)
2-3 years using Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform preferred)
Expertise in one or more: Windows, Linux, Containerization, Serverless, Machine Learning, Software Development
Proficient in scripting (Bash, Python, PowerShell) and using AWS CLI / SDK
2-3 years managing security controls (IAM, firewalls, antivirus, etc.)
Strong knowledge of enterprise network, system, and application architecture
Experience with source control systems (Git, VSTS, SVN)
Skilled in CI tools (e.g. Jenkins, CircleCI, Bamboo)
Effective communicator with all organizational levels
Travel about 25%
AWS Certification is required
