Job Summary
Greenlight Networks is seeking a
Field Superintendent
to manage small- to large-scale construction projects, supervise subcontractors, and ensure all field operations meet company standards. This role requires strong leadership to coordinate labor and schedules, maintain safety, and ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards. The Field Superintendent will communicate with stakeholders, ensure compliance with project specifications, and uphold industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Site Supervision: Direct all on-site construction activities, managing subcontractors, tradespeople, and foremen for efficient workflows and quality execution.
Project Coordination: Oversee pre-construction, construction, and post-construction tasks. Work closely with construction coordinators to track progress, resolve issues, maintain schedules, and assist with project meetings.
Timeline Management: Monitor project schedules, identify potential delays, and implement strategies to maintain progress and efficient resource use.
Quality & Safety Control: Ensure work meets company standards, industry regulations, and customer expectations. Conduct safety audits to verify proper PPE, traffic control, and safe work practices.
Subcontractor Management: Supervise subcontractor performance, ensuring work aligns with project plans, specifications, and timelines. Communicate regularly to address issues and maintain high standards of quality and safety.
Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary on-site contact, keeping customers, internal teams, and other stakeholders informed of progress, challenges, and solutions.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate project records, including daily reports, change orders, safety meeting notes, and project updates. Track quality punch lists, document construction print changes, and submit field-verified as-builts.
Problem-Solving: Proactively address construction challenges to keep projects on track, including emergency response coordination.
Assist with other engineering tasks as needed.
Travel to Greenlight Networks markets as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience in telecom, fiber network design, or outside plant construction is beneficial
Ability to manage multiple projects while effectively communicating with contractors and vendors
Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and leadership skills
Proficiency in construction software, PDF editors (Bluebeam), Microsoft Office Suite, and Sitetracker
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, project plans, and specifications
Knowledge of construction best practices, safety regulations, and quality control procedures
Comfortable working on active construction sites in varying conditions
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Education & Other Requirements
High school diploma required; vocational or college degree in Construction Management or a related field preferred
OSHA 30 certification strongly preferred
Experience managing subcontractors, field operations, and executing construction projects
Valid driver's license required
Experience with fiber network design/construction and utility poles/attachments is highly desirable
