This position offers the chance to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that’s constantly evolving. We have an opening for Paralegal / Regulatory Specialist for our Regulatory Law team. The Paralegal / Regulatory Specialist will perform substantive and procedural work under the supervision of the Regulatory Legal Department to ensure that Albertsons is receiving appropriate advice and counsel regarding the regulations and laws that are applicable to the business and supply chain to mitigate attendant risk. Areas covered by the Regulatory Legal Department include FDA, USDA, EPA, and CPSC requirements, alcohol, tobacco, and cannabis federal, state, and local regulations, consumer protection matters (pricing and weights and measures), and sustainability, extended producer responsibility (EPR), chemicals, and packaging requirements. This role can be based in Pleasanton, CA or Boise, ID Responsibilities

Monitoring federal, state, and local legislative, regulatory and litigation developments and trends relevant to the food and beverage retail industry, including alcohol, packaging, food safety, labeling, and consumer protection matters Conducting, analyzing, and summarizing basic legal research in key regulatory spaces Maintaining databases and tracking adherence to state and federal regulatory requirements to identify trends and communicate opportunities for continuous improvement Applying knowledge of regulations and Albertsons policies to provide initial review of product claims, marketing, and labeling to ensure adherence to FDA, USDA, TTB, and state regulatory requirements Tracking business adherence to regulatory requirements and assisting with preparation of corrective action plans and agency information requests Developing training materials for business and legal partners on key regulatory issues Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent paralegal experience At least 2 years of experience as a paralegal or regulatory specialist, with preference for experience in the food and beverage industry Ability to identify and analyze complex issues and evaluate their broader implications for the business; interact with clients; and communicate effectively in person and in writing Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and take ownership of issues and matters to their successful conclusion Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to inspire trust and confidence with stakeholders at all levels Exceptional time management, project management, attention to detail, and organization skills Expertise with PowerPoint, Word, Excel, MS Teams Committed to compliance In-house experience preferred Benefits
