Job Role and Responsibilities

Xilinx, Inc., a subsidiary of AMD, Inc., is hiring MTS Software Development Eng. to research, design, develop, and/or test operating systems-level software, compilers, and/or network distribution software for semiconductor operations, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Understand and define software requirements and architecture. Develop software and tools in support of design, infrastructure and technology platforms, including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases, cloud-based and Internet related tools. Define proprietary platform(s), including hardware and software components. Drive software and systems solutions including development and product definitions. Plan, design, develop and/or test software systems for software enhancements and new products. Drive projects or processes of significant technical importance. Participate in code reviews, creating unit tests, authoring detailed documentation related to your work, and working with on-site and offshore teams to deliver the software solutions on schedule. Partake in all phases of software development including system requirements analysis, coordinating feature design and development across functional and organization boundaries. Utilize expertise with computers and electronics, including computer hardware and software, applications, and programming, as well as knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products. Can work remotely. Multiple openings. Qualifications: Degree required Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required:

Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role. Alternate combination of education and experience:

Employer will alternatively accept a bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered, or closely related engineering role. Specific skills required: The following skills are required: Position requires three (3) years of experience in the following technologies and/or skills: ASIC design tools (synthesis, simulation, equivalence checking, static timing analysis); FPGA tools or products; Front-End EDA tools; C or C++; Python, Perl, TCL, or Shell; Unix or Linux environments; Software debugging (macOS, Linux, or Unix); Data Structures or Advanced Algorithms; and Mathematical Modeling or Object-oriented design.
