Job Description:
The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst prepares various general ledger journal entries, performs complex financial analysis, prepares annual CPUC report, and assists in quarterly and annual SEC reporting. This position is located in San Jose, California.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs various GL accounts analysis and reconciliations
Prepares journal entries for the month-end, quarter-end, and annual close
Prepares supporting documents for the quarterly financial reporting package including income statements, balance sheets, and statement of cash flow
Prepares quarterly flux analysis for the auditors
Enhances financial reporting by streamlining and refining the process to assist management in business decision-making
Monitors the monthly/quarterly close process
Prepares annual CPUC report for the Company; responds to inquiries from the Rates Department or CPUC
Analyzes and establishes Bad Debt reserve, Inventory reserve, and Workers Comp reserve
Reconciles deferred compensation and SERP between reports from the third party and GL
Complies with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements by ensuring adherence to internal controls
Works with internal and external auditors
Performs other duties as assigned to fulfill business operational needs and objectives
Performs work on-site in the assigned office location
Attends meetings and trainings as directed by the Company
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and/or equivalent relevant experience
CPA is desirable
Five to ten years of increasingly responsible experience in accounting with three consecutive years in general ledger
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
Valid California Driver License
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Advanced level of software knowledge and understanding
Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees and management
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
Detail-oriented and experienced in analyzing and improving processes
Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Knowledge in ERP Application is desirable
Salary Range: $102,000 - $189,400
