We are seeking a Regional Director of Operational Excellence to join our leadership team and play a pivotal role in developing hospice branch operations, orientation processes, and quality care delivery. You will partner directly with clinical and administrative leaders to strengthen local teams, support regulatory readiness, and ensure hospice services meet the highest standards of excellence.
This role requires regular, in-person travel across assigned branches and reports to the Vice President of Operations.
Responsibilities
Serve as a strategic advisor and mentor to branch leaders, ensuring alignment with operational and clinical standards
Provide hands-on support with onboarding, coaching, and retention of new leaders
Conduct on-site visits and audits, identifying opportunities for education, training, and process improvement
Collaborate with leadership teams to promote clinical compliance, high-quality patient care, and staff engagement
Coordinate with regional leaders, medical directors, and corporate staff to implement operational best practices
Support preparation and readiness for inspections, licensure, and accreditation surveys
Serve as a resource for regulatory updates, clinical systems, and policy compliance
Lead hospice quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) activities
Participate in patient care coordination and hospice service delivery reviews across varied settings
Track in-service training compliance and support professional development across the region
About You What You’ll Bring:
Registered Nurse (RN) with active, unencumbered license in your state of residence
Minimum of five years’ operations or leadership experience, with at least three years in hospice preferred
Strong communication, coaching, and leadership skills
CPR certification
Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout assigned region
Preferred (Not Required):
Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field
Regional or multi-site leadership experience in hospice or healthcare
Experience with training development, team education, or clinical integration
Knowledge of hospice compliance, quality metrics, and regulatory frameworks
Familiarity with HomeCare HomeBase or similar EMR systems
Specialized Knowledge/Skills:
Strong understanding of state/federal healthcare regulations
Ability to review financial metrics and operational performance
Excellent time management, prioritization, and follow-through skills
Comfortable working independently while collaborating cross-functionally
Ability to manage data, deliver reports, and drive field-level execution
License & Certifications:
Active RN license (required)
Valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance
CPR Certification
Technology & Tools:
Intermediate Excel skills
Basic PowerPoint skills
Experience navigating electronic systems, EMRs, and compliance tools
