As we continue to scale, we need a visionary technology leader to build and oversee the technical infrastructure that will power our next phase of growth.

The Role This is a pivotal executive leadership role responsible for defining and executing the long-term

technology roadmap

for Good Ranchers. You will serve as the top technology expert for the organization, bridging the gap between business strategy and technological innovation. You will own the entire technology ecosystem, from our public-facing e-commerce platforms and digital tools to the internal systems that support our marketing, operations, finance, and people functions.

This role requires a unique blend of strategic foresight and hands-on technical expertise. You will not just be a manager; you will be the chief architect, builder, and leader of our technology future.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Technology Vision & Leadership:

Develop a comprehensive, multi-year technology strategy and roadmap that supports and accelerates the company’s business goals, including aggressive growth targets.

Lead the selection, implementation, and integration of a robust

enterprise resource planning (ERP)

system to unify core business functions, including supply chain, inventory, finance, and human resources.

Evaluate and champion emerging technologies, such as AI, machine learning, and automation, to drive efficiency, enhance customer experience, and create a competitive advantage.

Serve as a key member of the executive team, advising on all technology-related matters and ensuring technical decisions align with business objectives.

E-commerce and Digital Ecosystem

Provide executive oversight and direction for the e-commerce technology team, ensuring the continued performance, scalability, and innovation of our online store and digital marketing platforms.

Lead the charge on future e-commerce architecture, including the potential migration to a

headless commerce

model to enable ultimate flexibility and a personalized customer experience.

Oversee the development of our data infrastructure and analytics capabilities to ensure data integrity and enable data-driven decision-making across the entire organization.

IT & Enterprise Operations

Build, lead, and manage the company’s internal IT infrastructure and support, ensuring all systems are secure, stable, and efficient.

Establish best practices for

cybersecurity, data privacy, and compliance

across all technical systems.

Manage a centralized technology budget, including capital expenditures, software licensing, and staffing.

Team & Vendor Management

Build a high-performing technology team and mentor a team of engineers and IT professionals, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and accountability.

Manage and build strategic relationships with all technology vendors, agencies, and external partners to ensure they deliver on their commitments and align with our long-term vision.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education:

A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology is required. An MBA or another advanced degree is strongly preferred.

Experience:

Proven experience (10 years) in a senior technology leadership role (VP of Engineering, Director of Technology, etc.), with a minimum of 5 years in an executive-level position such as a CTO or CIO. A background in high-growth, direct-to-consumer (DTC) or e-commerce businesses is essential. Experience scaling into omnichannel (retail) is highly desirable.

Technical Acumen:

Deep expertise in e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify), web development, and modern technology stacks. Must have a strong understanding of both front-end and back-end development principles. Experience with ERP systems and a successful track record of leading a company-wide implementation is highly desirable.

Strategic & Business Acumen:

The ability to translate complex technology concepts into clear business strategies. Must be a strategic thinker with a strong grasp of financial metrics and a proven history of managing large-scale projects and budgets.

Leadership:

Exceptional leadership skills with a track record of building, motivating, and managing diverse technology teams and external partners. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must.
