We are seeking a Software Engineer to lead the design and development of scalable networking systems, transports, and telemetry frameworks that support Azure’s AI and data center infrastructure, with a focus on robust observability and debugging capabilities. Responsibilities
Coding: participate in code reviews, apply coding patterns and best practices, and begin to use automated analysis tools with guidance. develop and maintain code that is extensible and maintainable, applying diagnosability, reliability, and security considerations. Design: explore design options under technical leadership, test hypotheses, contribute to design documents, consider performance, scalability, resiliency, and compliance requirements, and support integration with other teams. Engineering Excellence: follow security, privacy, and accessibility standards; contribute to security monitoring, telemetry, and threat models; collaborate with security partners on security promises and invariants; ensure end-to-end testing and live-site readiness. Implementation: break down work items, estimate tasks, ensure appropriate security protections, plan deployments with rollback considerations, and contribute to efficient operation after launch. Reliability and Supportability: monitor system health as a designated responsible individual (DRI) and escalate as needed; participate in on-call rotations and improve troubleshooting guides, telemetry, and monitoring for live sites. Understand User Requirements: collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders to capture customer needs and incorporate feedback, while addressing security and privacy considerations. Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline with proven coding experience in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python. OR equivalent experience. One year of experience coding in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python. Other Requirements
Ability to meet Microsoft security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Additional or Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field with proven coding experience in listed languages OR Bachelor's Degree with 2+ years of relevant engineering experience, OR equivalent experience.
