Director of Data Governance , you’ll work directly with the Data Engineering Leads and cross-functional teams on high-impact projects that shape the future of our products and data platform. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, secure and effective use of the organization’s data, providing guidance to the team that develops and implements comprehensive data policies, data management and governance capabilities, and ensuring regulatory compliance while aligning data management and governance strategies to business objectives. Key Accountabilities
Define and deliver broad data management and governance strategies aligned with current and long-term organizational goals. Oversee the development, documentation and governance of complex data frameworks and standards to ensure consistency and quality across data domains, and that policies are applied. Lead the implementation, deployment, and ongoing usage of Atlan as the enterprise data governance platform. Define and execute strategies for tool adoption, integration with existing data platforms, and continuous improvement based on user feedback and business needs. Develop and execute change management plans to drive adoption of data governance tools, including stakeholder engagement, training, and support. Champion a culture of data stewardship and accountability. Define a data quality vision and strategy to deliver data that is fit for purpose, aligning data quality initiatives with business priorities. Lead the creation of data governance policies that maintain data integrity and define how data is collected, stored, accessed, processed and shared. Lead teams of process and data authorities to define lifecycle guardrails for data domains, adhering to regulations and policies while maturing data practices. Develop data governance, risk and compliance processes and controls to identify improvements and mitigate risk in alignment with applicable laws and regulations. Oversee training programs to improve organizational literacy, ensure compliance with data standards and policies, and communicate accountability for data responsibilities. Manage team performance and development, fostering an inclusive culture and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Qualifications
Minimum requirement of 10 years of relevant work experience. Typically 12+ years of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading global cross-functional governance programs Experience with data governance tooling platforms such as Atlan, Alation or Colibra Established operating models and programs to mature data quality and compliance Built and led high-performing organizations Sponsored transformational programs spanning organizational or functional boundaries Skilled at articulating the importance of data governance to senior leaders to convey business value and risk Familiar with implementation or use of data governance and management technologies Additional Information
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $188,100.00 - $282,150.00. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range shown reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and other factors, including job-related skills, experience, and education or training.
