Overview
Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) is seeking an Inland Marine Underwriter, Contractors Equipment to join the US-based team. We are flexible as to which BHSI office this role is fulfilled from: NYC, Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles or San Francisco. Responsibilities
Develop and continue to build the Contractors Equipment line within the Inland Marine book of business, working closely with the CE leader based in NYC. Establish, develop, and expand broker and customer relationships, working independently and in conjunction with other BHSI product lines. Work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and make quick decisions while maintaining underwriting integrity. Qualifications, Skills and Experience
2-5+ years P&C insurance underwriting experience. Experience with Inland Marine lines and background in Contractors' Equipment underwriting are strongly preferred. Strong existing broker relationships. Experience and strong understanding of policy forms, including broker manuscripts and AAIS. Experience marketing to specialized brokers. Strong collaboration and team building skills. Entrepreneurial and self-starter mindset. Strong communication skills including advanced negotiation, communications, and presentation experience.
