Job Description Arity is a part of the Allstate Corporation, which collects and analyzes enormous amounts of data to provide cutting-edge solutions in transportation. At Arity, the Analytics team helps transform mobility by modeling and visualizing data from billions of miles of driving data and collaborating with product teams to deliver insights that improve safety and usability. The Role: The Data Scientist will join a team of data scientists and data engineers to help derive value from our data. The successful candidate will build pipelines, create models and identify signals from telematics, insurance, and other third-party data sources, ideating and implementing analytical approaches that support product offerings. Responsibilities: Your day-to-day work looks like: Creating and deploying advanced algorithms, machine learning models and processing pipelines using a variety of libraries/tools and cutting-edge techniques Exploring new data sources to create novel predictors of driving risk and other insurance metrics Working closely with data engineers and actuaries to refine product offering Establishing and following data science best practices including peer review, code review, documentation, coding standards, and ensuring reproducibility and compliance Analyzing large data sets using distributed computing frameworks Communicating results to key stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner Expanding data science and engineering skillsets through development opportunities and learning innovative tools and techniques Qualifications: We are looking for a team member that has the following traits: Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of industry experience, or a Master’s/PhD with 2+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or Machine Learning Scientist. More qualified candidates will be considered for a more senior position 4+ years of experience applying data science and analytics techniques to solve business problems Insurance industry experience is desired but not required Strong programming skills in Python and Spark/SQL (or equivalent big data tools), with experience in large-scale data processing, production-level engineering for ML solutions and cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure) Ability to translate complex product requirements into well-defined analytical problems and deliver actionable solutions Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts and data insights to stakeholders with varying levels of expertise Detail-oriented, double checks data/work against expectations, and takes pride in good documentation An innate curiosity and ability to learn new techniques and technologies Skills Analytical Thinking, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Data Science, Machine Learning, Predictive Analytics Compensation Compensation offered for this role is $95,700.00 - $170,925.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
