FACILITY SECURITY SPECIALIST
Location:
Headquarters United States Air Force, Office of the Surgeon General, Air Force Medical Command, 7700 Arlington Blvd, Suite 5101, Falls Church, VA 22042.
Summary
The Facility Security Specialist will support the Office of the Surgeon General, Headquarters United States Air Force, including answering questions and processing documents according to the local procedures and policies in accordance with Department of the Air Force and the National Industrial Program; Industrial Security Procedures for Government Activities, Department of Defense, and Information Security Programs.
Responsibilities
Track, maintain records, and coordinate paperwork in accordance with the DoD Personnel Security Program; DAF Information Security Program, Industrial Security Program Management, Industrial Security Program, and the Defense Information Security System (DISS) as they apply to the USAF/SG community.
Assist in administering courier briefings and provide courier documentation for classified handling within the NCR daily.
Coordinate paperwork and issues requiring SCI access and other special security capabilities with the AF Special Security Office.
Monitor and store daily end-of-day security checks and utilize SF 701 to ensure classified information is secure. Report concerns/non-compliance and provide training as needed.
Develop a process to ensure inventories of Top-Secret information are conducted at least annually, or more often as warranted.
Coordinate security compliance with DHA and other Security Managers on personnel status, facilities compliance, and training and security requirements.
Track and update the Commander/Director appointed security assistants in writing to manage applicable security programs (INFOSEC, Industrial Security, Insider Threat).
Assist with the development and implementation of an Emergency Action Plan (EAP) and ensure protection, removal, or destruction of classified material in case of emergencies.
Initiate, maintain, and document required personnel security investigations appropriate to responsibilities and access to DoD Sensitive Information; assist in ensuring PSI packages are completed.
Review SF86/85P to ensure information is complete; notify individuals if information is missing and request completion within three (3) business days.
Coordinate with AFMEDCOM/CSS staff to mail fingerprints to the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and maintain required documents after investigation approval.
Maintain a list of personnel security investigations; notify individuals with expired investigations or unfavorable adjudications; update files accordingly.
Monitor and update a database/roster of personnel requiring reinvestigations, upgrades, PSI pending adjudication, and personnel no longer with the agency; deliver to Security Manager by the 10th calendar day of the month.
Maintain a training file for all DAF/SG and AFMEDCOM personnel and provide updates when training is due for refresher.
Qualifications
Three (3) years of direct experience in security administrative support services.
An active Tier 3 (T3) clearance.
Highly Desired Qualifications
Certification by the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency as a Facility Security Officer (Processing).
