Head of Vet Conferences + Events
role at
The Farmer's Dog . What We Stand For and Where You’ll Come In The Head of Veterinary Conferences and Events will oversee the strategy, prioritization and development of all conference and event related initiatives, projects and outcomes. These efforts will focus on creating exciting, educational, and trust-building conference activities, collaborations, events and experiences. You will own the entire approach to conferences, large and small, and rethink how we deliver best-in-class booth experiences, education (whether owning CE tracks or providing it in the booth, etc.), marketing, social events, and partnerships related to these activities that boost our engagement and trust-building with the veterinary profession. You will partner regularly with the veterinarians in the team at all levels to assure appropriate medical and clinical focuses, alongside our growth and brand teams to assure we are providing the most ideal experience for these valued professionals. You will help establish the best current experiences while designing, planning and building towards the experience we want to provide in the future. You will take a holistic view of the profession, and be able to reach, engage, excite and educate vet pros at any stage of their journey, whether they are just beginning to explore TFD, have experience with us, or are primed to become major advocates. One Team: We don’t think of ourselves as “Acquisition Marketers”, “Engineers”, “Data Analysts”, or “Product Managers”. Beyond denoting skill sets and areas of expertise, we don’t think departments matter. We strive to orient ourselves around customer problems together – getting the right people, with the right context, in the right rooms/Zooms to solve problems holistically. We are skeptical about everything and precious about nothing: Ideas can and should come from anywhere, and we aren’t tied to our own. We proactively source input. We talk to our customers and leads regularly and are quick to change course if we know there’s a better or more impactful way to solve problems. We consider the customer journey in all of our decisions: We know no interaction exists in a silo and understand how important every single one is. We ensure our strategy sets prospective and new customers up for success and drives long-term retention. We understand the value of different channels, initiatives, and messages and know how to articulate impact and advocate for prioritization holistically. We Execute For Impact: We don’t subscribe to “best practices” or “industry KPIs”. We’re focused on being the best we can possibly be and orient ourselves around growth and brand impact. How You'll Make An Impact You will lead the teams responsible for the creation, prioritization, development, and execution of all conference and event related activities, including working with conference bodies, vendors, our key partners, and cross-functional teams You will help drive the future of our educational initiatives, a key pillar of any conference and event related activity, to bring the best education possible to veterinary professionals across a variety of roles and journey states You will help TFD drive intense growth with the vet profession through these activities, building trust and impact that helps them reshape their views of TFD and move towards advocacy You will think strategically about conferences, both current and future, and how TFD can lead in this space You will work with veterinarians to ensure medical accuracy and authenticity in the experiences of vet professionals at conferences, events and education You own the measurements of success of these initiatives and will push the envelope for what we might do, test and explore You will regularly work with internal partners on timing and project priority We’re Excited About You Because You have 5-8+ years in the animal health industry, with experience in veterinary conference planning/execution, veterinary marketing, educational initiatives, event planning, working with veterinary organizations, vendors, industry professionals and marketing partners You understand the landscape of veterinary medicine and the needs of veterinary professionals You can work cross-functionally with marketing, creative, acquisitions, and data teams You drive best-in-class development of new initiatives and aren’t afraid to rethink or challenge traditional programs You are a skilled verbal and written communicator, with a knack for building rapport and connections You are a versatile, creative self-starter, energized by multi-channel work You are proactive, always seeking new opportunities and solutions You are highly organized and capable of prioritizing effectively to drive toward solutions with urgency You are an end-to-end owner and feel a sense of full responsibility for our mission You enjoy tackling sophisticated problems without off-the-shelf solutions You are curious, skeptical, and eager to understand ‘why’ You have excellent problem-solving skills and can manage, sequence, and prioritize tasks You value speed with a “think big, act small” mindset and have a track record for experimentation You’re not afraid to disagree, and can admit when you are wrong You believe in fresh food and are excited to advance knowledge and science about it with the veterinary community A DVM or equivalent is a nice-to-have, but not required Office Guidelines: We are an in-office culture and seek individuals who thrive in collaborative environments. Our Belonging Philosophy At TFD, belonging means every person feels respected, valued, and empowered to be themselves. “Everyone’s welcome at the dog park.” There’s space for you here, and you contribute your voice while growing through challenges and shared goals. We monitor belonging through biannual surveys, manager training, TFD camps, and support from Humans. We also offer best-in-class benefits including dog-friendly office, healthcare, equity, 12 week parental leave, 401k with match, flexible PTO, and more.
