Summary
The Contract Manager supports and leads the mission of AeroVironment's Contracts Department by providing excellence in Contracts Administration to internal and external customers. One possesses expert knowledge and is a subject matter expert in professional Contracts Administration within the aerospace and defense industry. The Contracts Manager develops the bid, capture and contract negotiation processes, and then ensures efficient performance throughout the life of each contract, supporting amendments and interpretations as necessary. Detail-orientation is key in this role. The Contracts Manager solves complex problems to make informed decisions collaborating with other functions. Position Responsibilities
Provide strategic guidance on all Contracts topics with urgency and competitive positioning in mind Deliver strong customer satisfaction. Serve as point-of-contact for assigned customer portfolio and on pre-contract and active contract activities Work closely with contracts team and other functions including Sales, Strategy and Marketing, Finance, and the Legal team on bid and proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract review and administration for new and sustaining products. Manages and monitors the performance of long-term contracts and agreements. Analyze and concisely summarize contractual obligations, commitments, and performance for internal stakeholders. Analyze the impact of modifications and revisions to contract terms and prepare recommendations and risk reviews for management Coordinates flow-downs of terms and conditions with all functional departments including program management, engineering, product support, finance, quality, supply chain management, manufacturing, as required. Assist other Contracts Administrators in ensuring the customer is compliant with the terms and conditions Responsible for generating compliance matrices and making recommendations in accordance with AV policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with contracting policies, laws and regulations, including but not limited to Federal Acquisition Regulations, Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplements, Cost Accounting Standards, Export Administration Regulations and International Traffic in Arms Regulations Evaluates proposals for accuracy and compliance with AV Terms and Conditions and export regulations, prepare and submit Key member of the contracts team, offering training and mentoring. Occasionally may be required to travel within the Continental U.S. 10% or less of the time Other duties as assigned Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
12+ years of related experience or 8+ years of related experience with Masters Clearance Type: Secret Strong background in Government contracts regulations such as FAR/DFARS Strong background in various contract types such as FFP, CPFF, CPIF, OTAs, etc. Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies
Masters Degree in Business or Legal field preferred Demonstrates exceptional organizational skills and handles various legal tasks according to work requirements with strong attention to detail Exhibits strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with functional experts as well as all levels of employees Able to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties Displays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectives Takes ownership and responsibility for current and past work products Is committed to learning from mistakes and driven to improve and enhance performance of oneself, others, and the company Focuses on teamwork and puts the success of the team above one\'s own interests Physical Demands

Special Requirements: U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) or asylee/refugee status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) required. Occasionally may be required to travel within the Continental U.S. The salary range for this role is: $120,686 - $170,940 AeroVironment considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the location, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
