Overview
The George Washington University Department of Pathology is seeking a mid-career academic surgical pathologist to join our collegial and growing team in Washington, DC. This is an outstanding opportunity for a pathologist with leadership potential and a strong academic background to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative academic medical center. Faculty appointment with integrated clinical and academic responsibilities. Responsibilities
Contribute to a broad surgical pathology service with exposure to GI, breast, GU, lung, digital pathology, cytology, and gynecologic pathology. Sign out and interpret surgical pathology cases as part of a multidisciplinary team. Collaborate with residents and fellows in diagnostic work and education. Provide mentorship and support for professional growth and scholarship. Maintain a 40-hour workweek with some scheduling flexibility and dedicated academic time; participate in teaching and scholarly activities. Qualifications
MD/DO degree. Board-certified or board-eligible in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the time of appointment. Licensure: Eligible for DC licensure. Fellowship training and/or experience in general surgical pathology and/or a surgical pathology subspecialty or cytopathology. Mid-career level of experience. About the Community
