Full-time, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (60% in-office, 40% remote) Salary:
$135,000 - $145,000 We are currently seeking an experienced and highly organized Intellectual Property (IP) Paralegal Manager to lead our U.S. Patent Prosecution Paralegal Team. This position is open due to the need for strong leadership to oversee day-to-day operations, support team performance, and help drive process improvements and consistency across our growing IP prosecution practice. Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of 17 U.S. patent prosecution paralegals, including oversight of assignments, workload distribution, and performance management. Serve as a subject matter expert and escalation point for complex prosecution matters and procedural issues. Collaborate closely with attorneys, docketing, and legal support departments to ensure timely and accurate prosecution support. Develop, document, and implement best practices, workflows, and guidelines to promote operational efficiency and compliance. Evaluate individual and team performance and provide ongoing coaching and development opportunities. Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training of new paralegals. Monitor workload, deadlines, and quality control in coordination with docketing and legal operations teams. Identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to IP operations and firm-wide initiatives. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required. Required Qualifications
Minimum of 8 years of experience in U.S. patent prosecution, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity. Prior law firm experience is required (in-house/corporate-only backgrounds will not be considered). Strong knowledge of USPTO rules, procedures, and electronic filing systems. Proven experience managing large teams in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program. Experience with international IP operations or global prosecution workflows is a plus.
