Overview
Principal Analog Mixed-Signal Design Engineer – Westlake Village, California, United States Location: Hybrid - 2 days a week minimum in office. Locations in Westlake Village, CA Compensation: 145,300 - 215,010 USD per year (base). The successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range may be modified based on market conditions. Responsibilities
Active circuit design and technical leadership. Designing leading edge transimpedance amplifier designs, primarily in Silicon Germanium (SiGe) BiCMOS technology, where circuit performance should transcend industry-leading products. Developing transmission line structures and other millimeter wave structures to enable higher performance. Designing high-performance broadband analog circuits for optical front-end receivers. Designing various other analog circuits including linear regulators, AGC loops, current/voltage sensors, bandgaps, etc. Developing microarchitecture of major circuit blocks and guiding a team of designers to implement them. Work with technologies including SiGe BiCMOS and CMOS. Collaborating with other functional groups to facilitate post-silicon validation, qualification, transition to mass production, and customer support. What We're Looking For
Education Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering with experience in high-performance
RF/Analog Receiver/TIA design
(10-15 years), or MSc/PhD with 5+ years in the same area. Proven experience in IC design including chip tape-out and lab evaluation of receiver design. Solid experience with
Using EDA CAD tools
and performing analog custom layout. Experience measuring IC performance and debugging to correlate simulations to measurements. Deep understanding of fundamentals, including detailed transistor-level design, device physics, and control/feedback loop stability analysis. Direct project experience in at least one of the following is a plus: AGC loop design; high precision analog circuits (including linear regulators, current sensors, bandgaps, DAC/ADC); CTLE design. Project experience in using different technologies; SiGe BiCMOS is a plus. A team-player with potential to oversee and mentor junior circuit designers; chip lead experience and success in silicon; ability to translate chip-level specifications into architecture.
