Must have:
Over 8 years of relevant experience in systems engineering or administration, specifically with Operating Systems, networking, and storage systems. At least 5 years of experience in Systems Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or similar roles within Windows/Linux or comparable environments. A minimum of 3 years experience working in a 24/7 production environment. Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Perl, Python, Ruby, PowerShell, or similar. Responsibilities: As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be tasked with balancing the operational duties of AWS’s software systems while engaging in long-term software engineering initiatives aimed at minimizing operational toil. You’ll work closely within the AWS Utility Computing (UC) organization, supporting the continuous development and oversight of services including Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (IoT), Platforms, and Productivity Applications. Your contributions will be key to ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and efficiency of AWS Regions, while advocating for enhancements in service resilience and reliability.
