Overview Saint Mary's College of California invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean of the Kalmanovitz School of Education (KSOE). The next Dean will join Saint Mary's at a time of transition with new institutional leadership and a renewed commitment to mission-driven, Lasallian-centered education.

Saint Mary's is located in Moraga, California, in the San Francisco Bay Area. The College has a long-standing commitment to accessible, mission-driven education and to social justice, cultural competence, and engaged citizenship within its Lasallian tradition.

Today, Saint Mary's serves approximately 1,900 undergraduate students, 600 graduate students, and 54,620 living alumni. The School enrolls nearly 300 students in degree-granting programs, with 200 in credential and certificate programs, and includes 77 faculty and 12 staff. The Kalmanovitz School of Education (KSOE) comprises four departments: Counseling, Teacher Education, Leadership, and Forensic Psychology, offering programs that bridge theory and practice.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic vision and leadership for KSOE, strengthening its academic reputation and impact on students, communities, and the broader educational landscape.

Unite a deeply committed faculty and staff, foster shared governance, and promote collaboration across the School and the wider campus.

Identify opportunities for enrollment growth and extend KSOE's reach at the local, state, and national levels.

Oversee faculty governance, accreditation, curriculum, budget, and long-range planning.

Engage with internal and external stakeholders to advance the Lasallian mission and inclusive excellence.

Qualifications

Evidence of a strong record of academic administrative leadership with oversight of faculty, accreditation, curriculum, budget, and planning.

Academic credentials and experience that qualify the candidate for appointment as a full professor with tenure at the College and enable them to be an eminent leader of the School's faculty.
