The Department of Pediatrics, Division of General Pediatrics-Pediatric Hospital Medicine, University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine, Tampa, is seeking a hospital-based Advanced Practitioner Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant that will act in accordance with Florida Statutes for the Nurse Practitioners Act. Duties include inpatient care and may involve teaching of students and residents. This position will be assigned overnight shifts and includes weekend coverage. The position is located at St. Joseph's Children\'s Hospital in Tampa, Florida. Responsibilities
Provide direct medical care to patients in a hospital setting, including diagnosis, treatment, operation, or prescription for diseases, pain, injury, deformity, or other physical or mental conditions. Document all orders, procedures, and progress notes in the patient\'s medical record. May provide clinical teaching experience for students or residents. Participate in Quality Assurance / Improvement projects. Perform other duties as assigned and contribute to teaching, service, and related activities as appropriate. Qualifications
Master\'s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent qualifications; must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Instructor. Graduation from an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse program with certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 464 and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64, or graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program with certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 458 and 459 and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64; must be board certified or eligible. Board certification/eligibility in the applicable advanced practice field. May be subject to Level 1 or Level 2 criminal background check. Working at USF and Compliance
