Psychiatry Nature of Work
The Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist will provide evidence-based care to children and adolescents in multi-disciplinary settings, and will work in outpatient and CoPPCAP programs. CoPPCAP (Colorado Pediatric Psychiatry Consultation & Access Program) supports pediatric primary care providers through peer-to-peer consultations, limited direct patient consultations, resource referrals, and education. Applicants should apply evidence-based approaches to care and support pediatric primary care providers in assessing and treating mild to moderate behavioral health concerns in primary care. Teaching and mentoring residents, fellows, and medical students is desired. Scholarly activities are encouraged. The position serves a diverse patient population. This is an open-rank position (Instructor to Professor) based on experience and qualifications. There may be opportunities to work in additional clinical and/or research settings based on skillset and program needs. Examples of Work Performed
Perform initial psychiatric diagnostic interviews, develop and follow through with treatment plans, and maintain timely and focused documentation in the EMR and/or RedCap.
Conduct one-time consultations to aid in diagnostic clarification and guide treatment in the primary care setting.
Apply and implement evidence-based care, including pediatric medication management guidelines.
Develop, train, and supervise psychiatry and psychology trainees.
Carry a caseload on the outpatient psychiatric unit and serve on the CoPPCAP consultation team.
Participate in educational activities and develop management support materials for pediatric primary care providers.

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist reports to the Medical Director of the Pediatric Mental Health Institute and the Program Director for CoPPCAP (Sandra Fritsch). Supervision Exercised:
The psychiatrist will not supervise other employees. The position will provide training and mentoring to graduate students and/or postdoctoral fellows, etc. Salary and Benefits
The salary ranges (hiring ranges) are established as follows: Instructor, Senior Instructor, Assistant Professor: $220,000 – $250,000 Associate Professor: $250,000 – $270,000 Professor: $280,000 – $310,000 The finalist’s salary will be set based on factors including internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications Colorado Medical License, DEA Certificate, Board Certified in Psychiatry, or Board eligible in Child Psychiatry within 3 years of hire. Medical staff privileges at Children’s Hospital Colorado. Prior experience in a child/adolescent psychiatric setting; residency or academic experience is desirable. Rank Requirements Instructor/Senior Instructor/Assistant Professor: 1-3 years related clinical experience. MD or DO required. Associate Professor: 4-7 years related clinical experience. MD or DO required. Professor: 7+ years related clinical experience. MD or DO required. Preferred Qualifications Clinical experience in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Leadership and teaching experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Clinical skill for brief, targeted assessments in integrated care settings; flexibility in different work situations. Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present to community audiences. Ability to work on multiple tasks; organized and detail-oriented. Experience developing, training, and supervising psychology trainees. Strong collaboration and relationship-building across levels; commitment to inter-professional, team-based care. Understanding of diversity and inclusion best practices; knowledge of clinical research regulations; ability to manage complex information and systems.
