Join Sanofi’s mRNA Center of Excellence (mRNA CoE) as a Co-op in the Data and Computational Science (DCS) department, supporting the CMC Data Science group. This role focuses on developing first-principle and machine learning (ML) models for unit operations such as Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF) and Chromatography in process development. You’ll gain hands-on experience with mRNA technology and unit operations, while applying modeling techniques in a non-GMP laboratory setting. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge biopharmaceutical research and innovation. Main Responsibilities
Collaborate with your supervisor to develop first-principle and ML models for various unit operations, including TFF and Chromatography. Investigate the impact of process parameters on product quality attributes and quantify associated uncertainties. Design model-based DoE for model structure selection and parameter optimization. About You
Basic Qualifications
Currently enrolled and pursuing a bachelor's degree, master's degree, or PhD in Biology, Chemical or Biochemical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field at an accredited college or university with the expectation that you will complete your current degree by Spring 2028. Must be able to relocate to the office location and work 40hrs/week, Monday-Friday, for the full duration of the co-op/internship. Must be authorized to work in the US for the duration of the co-op Preferred Qualifications
Foundational knowledge of mRNA technology. Experience with ML, first-principle, or hybrid dynamic modeling. Familiarity with mathematical and modeling tools such as Python (scikit-learn), Julia, MATLAB, PYOMO, or gPROMS. Why Choose Us?
