Facility Type: Out-Patient Clinic Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive healthcare for women across all stages of life. Conduct gynecological exams, ultrasounds and other diagnostic procedures. Perform surgical procedures, such as hysterectomies, cesarean sections and minimally invasive surgeries (depending on scope of practice). Diagnose and treat a wide range of women’s health conditions. Provide counseling on reproductive health, contraception and family planning. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as pediatricians and neonatologists, for optimal patient care. Maintain accurate and complete medical records for all patients. Stay current on the latest advancements in obstetrics and gynecology through continuing education. Qualifications
In-depth knowledge of obstetrics and gynecology, including pregnancy, childbirth and women’s health conditions. Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Technical proficiency in performing gynecological exams, ultrasounds and surgical procedures. Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for surgical procedures. Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to adapt quickly to changing patient conditions, often in high-stress environments. Time management and organizational skills to manage a patient workload effectively. Empathy and compassion for patients during sensitive medical situations. Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school. Residency training in obstetrics and gynecology accredited by ACGME or AOA. Licensing & Certifications
Board certification in obstetrics and gynecology by ABOG or AOA. Active and unrestricted medical license in Virginia. Experience
Most locum OB/GYN positions prefer candidates with at least one year of obstetric and gynecological care experience in a clinical or hospital setting. Additional Notes
